چکیده
It is important to study the species-abundance distribution pattern in a community reveal mechanism of assembly. Six abundance models (log-normal model, Zipf Zipf–Mandelbrot broken stick niche preemption and Volkov model) were used fit six scales (10 m × 10 m, 20 40 ×40 60 80 100 m) fixed, semifixed, mobile sand dunes Gurbantünggüt Desert, respectively. The best-fitting model was determined using K-S test, Chi-square Akaike information criterion. results showed that values soil salinity, nutrients, water content, Shannon–Wiener diversity index (H′), Pielou evenness (E), Simpson (D) ranked all three habitats as fixed > semifixed dunes. rank curves span narrow range on horizontal axis at species richness minimal. As scale increases, curve gradually becomes higher m. At scales, fits best dune habitats. neutral habitats, In dunes, both processes played roles construction, reflecting manifestation niche-neutral continuum.

Non-neutral patterns of species abundance in grassland communities.
Although the distribution of plant species abundance in a Minnesota grassland was consistent with neutral theory, niche but not neutral mechanisms were supported by the ability of species traits to predict species abundances in three experimental grassland communities. In particular, data from 27 species grown in monoculture showed that species differed in a trait, R*, which is the level to whi...
متن کاملFuel breaks affect nonnative species abundance in Californian plant communities.
We evaluated the abundance of nonnative plants on fuel breaks and in adjacent untreated areas to determine if fuel treatments promote the invasion of nonnative plant species. Understanding the relationship between fuel treatments and nonnative plants is becoming increasingly important as federal and state agencies are currently implementing large fuel treatment programs throughout the United St...
متن کاملAbundance patterns in multi-species communities exposed to habitat destruction.
Habitat destruction resulting from human activity is a serious threat to biodiversity. The model developed by Tilman et al. [Tilman, D., May, R.M., Lehman, C.L., Nowak, M.A., 1994. Habitat destruction and the extinction debt. Nature 371, 65-66] has become an important tool for analyzing persistence of species in habitats under destruction. However, most analysis and applications of this model h...
متن کاملSpecies abundance distribution and dynamics in two locally coupled communities.
This study considered a model for species abundance dynamics in two local community (or islands) connected to a regional metacommunity. The model was analyzed using continuous probabilistic technique that employs Kolmogorov-Fokker-Planck forward equation to derive the probability density of the species abundance in the two local communities. Using this technique, we proposed a classification fo...
متن کاملThe Distribution of Abundance in Neutral Communities.
The patterns of abundance generated by a simple stochastic birth-death-immigration model are described in order to characterize the diversity of neutral communities of ecologically equivalent species. Diversity is described by species number S and the variance of frequency or log abundance q∼. The frequency distribution of abundance is very generally lognormal, skewed to the left by immigration...
